About The Business

Turner Engineering is a leading specialist in Land Rover engine components, renowned for its precision-engineered parts and industry expertise. Established in 1979, the company has built a reputation for supplying high-quality engine rebuild kits, cylinder heads, pistons, bearings, and other essential components for Land Rover models, including the Defender, Discovery, and Range Rover.

The Challenge

Turner Engineering was on an older CMS platform. This platform was slower, clunky and preventing them from growing. Their campaigns were sub optimally structured, and the client was recieving minimal marketing comms, strategy or support from the incumbent agency.

How Amore Digital Helped

Initial Search Marketing Audit

An initial search marketing audit was undertaken across both the Google ads account, and a review of their current SEO position. This uncovered a few core opportunities and allowed us to prioritise.

Smooth Migration to Shopify

The current website had been operating for many years and was a 7 figure turnover business, therefor it was vital we got the migration right. Amore Digital worked with ITQ Digital to ensure this went smoothly. To ensure this went well we:

  • Migrated tracking over to a new GA4 Analytics account.
  • Implemented a new Google Shopping feed which plugged into merchant centre.
  • Transferred old PPC landing pages to new Shopify pages.
  • Downloaded all core data across GA, Search console to ensure all the SEO redirects were implemented properly.
Better Structured Pmax Campaigns

Even though Performance Max was responsible for a large proportion of revenue, it was not split out efficiently. A lot of the ad copy was also generic, thus not inspiring a strong clickthrough rate. 

We changed this by splitting the feed by higher performing and lower performing engines. This enabled us to create much more relevant and higher converting ad copy to complement the changes we made to the feed.

Improved URL Structure and Meta Titles Updates

The previous URL structure contained excess characters including numbers. This was a byproduct of the previous CMS. We resolved this up by redirecting to a ‘cleaner’ Shopify url and cleaning the url structure. 

A lot of meta titles were also non-descriptive, we updated the meta titles to be not only more descriptive but contain more keywords the core category pages can appear for increasing search presence.

The Results

After working a successful Shopify migration. We started working on the Paid search and SEO campaigns at the end of 2023. A year later and not only did the SEO traffic increase 11.5%, the Google ads results speak for themselves …
